Why walking barefoot is so good for being grounded and your health.

I've always walked barefoot where I can for as long as I can remember! Not just because shoes leave my feet smelly, but I have felt this feeling of inner peace that I now know is groundedness.

Side note, yes, I get prickles in my feet! However, I've also had blisters on my feet from wearing shoes. But I 100% want the prickles from walking barefoot. You choose your better option.

Keep reading to find out why.

One of the most significant benefits when walking barefoot in nature (aka, grass, dirt and sand) is that we absorb so many negative ions.

Negative ions are imperative to harmonizing the body and bringing all body systems back into balance; this is known as homeostasis. The body systems that negative ions support is the skeletal, muscular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, urinary and reproductive systems. Thus, negative ions help detoxify, neutralize radiation damage, reduce dysbiosis in cells, down-regulate the nervous system for calmness, and so much more.

Negative ions are abundant in nature. They are everywhere!

The more nature you are exposed to, the greater the number of negative ions surrounding you. You breathe them in, drink and eat them. They are also absorbed through your skin and feet.

For example, the amazon rainforest is loaded with negative ions, whereas a city has very few in comparison. The best place for you to absorb negative ions is in a park, a forest, the ocean, or grass in your garden.

I walk barefoot to absorb negative ions through my feet and absorb them from all around me.

When I wear shoes, I don't feel strong. I feel like I have to rely on something that is not solely made for me. My feet are made for me; shoes, eh, not so much!

But that being said, I love a good pair of heels when I'm at a party! But, I will still choose to wear my dirty feet after walking into the party because the feeling of grit in my toes is so good!

The feeling of dirt connects me back to my childhood and my roots of why I'm here on this earth. Plus, a textural feeling ignites a sensory experience to life.

It helps me feel human, and it helps me feel grounded, especially when I have so much going on in my head. Wearing your feet will 100% remind you that you are here to have a physical experience with what is in front of you now (not the endless list of todo's, fairyland dreams of one day or false stories about x in your head).

Allow yourself to be

Connected to the earth,

Connected to your friends,

Connected to the plants,

Connected to your surroundings and

Connected to yourself.

The only body part that is going to keep you grounded is your feet. I recommend always having your feet planted on the ground - concrete, grass or the carpet.

Groundedness through feet (especially on the earth) allows you to get out of your head and into your body.

When you are grounded, you leave your busy (mental) lifestyle and feel at home within yourself again.

Feeling at home within yourself allows you to make coherent decisions and choices for yourself and your inner needs.

Groundedness also leads to feelings of safety and inner security. Safety and internal security are two of the biggest needs humans need for survival. When you feel safe and secure, you will go out and be more strong (mentally and physically) and be more grounded in your intuition. Having a grounded intuition also allows you to make more choices that will ground you and support yourself and yourcells.

Therefore, no shoes = more groundedness = safety & security = heighten intuition = more grounded decisions (and the cycle continues).

Today, I want to encourage you to take your shoes off and go for a walk barefoot in nature.

And remember,

Nature is here to support you,

Nature is here to ground you,

Nature is here to bring you back into your healthiest body.

I would love you to leave below how you feel after walking barefoot on Mumma earth, both on a physical and emotional level.
